The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
1/30/2006 03:40:00 午前

Ahaha this is a very late post. We watched Narnia last week, and I only wrote about it now. Anyway the movie was very cool, much as expected. I might write a short evangelistic break-down of the movie soon, which can be useful in spreading the gospel to unbelieving fans of the movie/books. :D

Second, I downloaded a long-overdue video of BOTY (Battle of the Year) Korea 2005. It was the battle between Last 4 One team and Extreme Crew. I hope I spelled those crew names right, though. I saw some places that it's spelled "Extrem" (?). Anyway... It's really cool. Extremely fun battle. Gave me good ideas on simple new moves to try learning, too.

SilkRoad is back online. It went back online a few hours later than scheduled, but on the right day (Jan 23rd). When it started up it had a lot of problems. Even now it's still getting down-times and lag spikes, but it's gotten better. But unexpectedly, almost nothing was changed. According to the administrators, the main purpose for beta 3 right now is testing GameGuard and network stability. When they have the whole thing all good and stable, even with GameGuard, they'll start giving us the new features.

Finally, something weird happened yesterday (Sunday). While I was playing PIU, a bunch of Koreans were there. Mostly girls. At first they were giggling uncontrollably that it was getting uncomfortable. I was going on with my usual play style. Lots of freestyle, some crazy and hard songs, etc. Later while I was resting, three girls came up to me with notebooks and pens in hand, and asked me to sign them an autograph. o_o; It was so embarassing lol. Good grief I was frozen, I didn't know what to do so I just wrote my name as crudely as my unprepared self could do it. They thanked me then left soon after. It was weird, but fun. Too bad they were really young (like mid-teens probably). Now, if only Korean girls my age would do that...

Pangya! :D
1/21/2006 04:37:00 午後

Current LSS: 45RPM - Rigidong

Okay since SilkRoad is still not up (still scheduled to go back online on Tuesday, Jan 24th), I got to download an online golf game called Pangya (a.k.a. Albatross 18). It's an extremely fun game. Possibly one of the better golf games in general even.

Aside from that, the MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) I've been playing at for 4 or 5 years now moved to a new server. Adventures Unlimited, obviously my favorite MUD, used to be hosted on Betterbox.net, which hosted some other MUDs too, but now after 7 years they finally decided to sell and stop hosting MUDs. So AU got its own domain and server at Tharel.net.

For those that didn't know, a MUD is generally a text-based online RPG, where roleplay is the emphasis. Of course, it's still a game, and there are dungeons to explore, monsters to kill, and wealth and status to earn, and so on.

Finally I just finished a sketch of one of my characters in AU. This is long overdue, because I first set out to do this sketch about a year ago, when that particular character was still fairly new. I'll post the sketch on our website (and theirs) when I ink and color it.

Silk Road Update
1/12/2006 07:30:00 午前

Okay actually a lot's happened the last several days. To begin with, I'm recovering from some sickness. I think it's just an expansion from the cold, to include a mild flu (maybe even stomach flu?). I still feel a bit off right now, as my head is throbbing, but I feel much better than the other day (Tuesday).

January 9th, Silk Road closed down to end the 2nd Beta testing period. This is a definitely a good thing, because in a few days Beta 3 will be out, and the updates are huge! Rumored updates so far (I'm not very up-to-date on the rumors) include implementation of the Oasis Towns system, and the implementation of the western country, which according to Mikko is Greece, but according to the website and from the looks of the trailer is "Roma". I find it odd that Greece will be implemented first from the Persian area, but oh well.

Anyway the Oasis Town system is sort of like War of Emperium in Ragnarok Online, in that, the town is owned by players, and can be taken siege of. The town's type will be determined by the owners, whether it'll be a hunter headquarters, a merchant stop-over, or a bandit den.

Also rumored in the update will be the implementation of the Item Mall, and many new items, including potions/scrolls that increase the amount of exp you gain for long periods of time. I don't know much else about how these will work. They're also implementing a 9th degree set of equipment for the Chinese (I think it comes in standard for the western country).

Okay enough about Silk Road. You can already tell I'm friggen excited about it. Time now for some b-boy news. I just downloaded a couple of videos again from Style2Ouf.com, and it seems to me that the trend, at least in French b-boy communities, is learning to do master swipes and combos spawned from that. I may have to step up my learning a large amount. First off, I gotta develop more strength so I can hold my weight better in a handstand position, especially a dynamic one. Second, I need to get used to spinning. Windmills, 1990's/2000's and flares will help. Now I desperately need some space to practice these in.

Finally, Pump It Up news. Pump: Zero has finally been released in Korea, and is scheduled for international (?) release on February 1st. The game features 131 songs, new game modes/difficulties (missions, newbie and "another" step charts), "better graphics" and a new "user-friendly interface". Man I can't wait for this. One of the new songs is Rapper's Delight, which is just screaming oldsk00l b-boy. I hope the Freestyle steps are fun.

[Belated] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
1/01/2006 01:19:00 午前

Alright it's 2006! Man time flies like mad. First off, I forgot to make a post last week, but I wanna share my post-Christmas greetings with everyone. If you're curious as to what I got as presents, I got a new cell phone (to replace the one I lost before my birthday) from my parents, and I got headphones from Abby.

I've been playing Need for Speed Underground 2 and Battlefield 1942 a lot since last week. It's my first time to play either game, since my machine is actually powerful enough to handle them now. But I actually played NSFU2 before, on the PS2, even just for a little while.

We went to the last day of the Pyro Olympics 2005 at the Mall of Asia in Roxas Blvd. (?) Friday night. It was U.A.E. versus team Philippines. The show was very good. I loved this one pyrotechnic that team Philippines used, where it made a huge explosion, resulting in dozens of falling red dots that stayed in the air for a long time, probably half a minute or more. It was awesome. The way to and from that place had terribly heavy traffic though, and it took us over 2 hours to get home. It took Mikey about 4 hours (they got home at 2 AM). Hmm.

We'd just finished our family new year party. Traditionally, we'd be going to Las Piñas by now, but there's nobody there now from what I hear, because they're going to Los Baños. I'm sorta relieved. While it's good to see the family, I think it's good also to relax for once.

Fireworks and firecrackers around here are loud as usual. Many of the residents gave the firecrackers to the gate guard for him to light. He seems to be very used to doing such things. But one of the kwitis that he lit flew down prematurely, and exploded on the ground about 5 yards away from where we were standing. That was fun heh. The other one before that did the same, but landed in the street.

Finally, regarding Flyff and Silk Road, Silk Road is still broken. I mean, you can log on and all, and there's even a Christmas event still on-going (will end at January 3rd I think), but attack speeds are messed up, thanks to the massive server lag. The whole server is lagging, and it's affecting even the time between attacks. Even monsters are affected. We're hoping that the problem ends by the next patch on Tuesday. In Flyff, I put my Billposter-to-be aside first to see if I'll enjoy a Blade-to-be more. So far so good. Definitely handles frontlining better, for obvious reasons...

Anyway that's all the news. It's over two weeks of events summed up as shortly as I can sum it up. Enjoy the rest of the vacation, guys!
