It's Like That!
10/25/2005 12:22:00 午前

Watched the movie Doom Sunday. It's pretty cool. I can't spoil anything here but I'll just say they did a good job with fan service. I'm talking about the FPS view later on in the movie. Ahaha that was fun.

We also finally fixed the network/ICS problem. It turns out it was a DNS problem within our network. Abby did all of the work on this one. Yay her.

I was sick from around Friday or Saturday up to Monday morning. I'm still a little sick now actually but it's not so bad. Cough and colds, headache, minimal things. Sunday night I had the flu, which made me feel really sick. I have to be honest, I missed being sick. I haven't gotten sick like that in probably over a year. Usually I only get a cold or something but I don't really have to lie in bed with a fever or something.

PIU machine still dead. I don't even think they're going to work on it. It might be like the DDR/ITG machine in Quantum (SM North). It took them a few months to finally fix it. Ah well. We'll see. We're going to SM San Lazaro today (Tuesday) anyway.

Fixing a few of my breakdance moves now. I'm working on the backward roll that ends up on a shoulder-stand freeze. I can get it sometimes... Needs more practice definitely. Also working on a few things that stem from a backspin.

Speaking of breakdance, we got the It's Like That MV by RUN-DMC vs. Jason Nevins. At the time this first came out, I didn't really care much for breakdancing, so I couldn't appreciate the video... for some reason. But now that I'm into breakdancing, this is one of my favorite MVs now heheh. I especially like the part where this one guy breaks into a one-handed air freeze. Man that was kickass. Also with the guy who does an airtrack.

Boring Week
10/21/2005 12:17:00 午前

Well, not entirely... But there's been much in the bad things department. First off, our home network is broken. So Abby and I can't play some of the network games we love to play. We can't even access each other's files. We'll have it fixed today (Friday).

Second, the PIU machine in Mega has been broken since last Saturday. At first it didn't seem like such a big problem. They even told us it would be fixed later that night. But it wasn't. Come Sunday it turns out the problem is more serious than we thought. We were out again Wednesday, and the machine wasn't even in the hall anymore! Yeah, they packed it up and put it inside in a corner somewhere while they "fix" it. I don't know if they're really fixing it, but I sure hope they are.

In the meantime I've been brushing up on my DDR and DanceManiaX skills, and I've also played a good game of Virtua Tennis 2 against a pretty good opponent.

No progress in breakdancing department lol... No space at home to practice, and no PIU machine to practice around either. At least when the machine was out there we could hang around it and do a few stunts once in a while. Hmm.

Anyway here's hoping for a fix for both our problems.

Beginner
10/12/2005 12:11:00 午前

I am now classified as a beginner breakdancer. Yay me. I've picked up several basic breakdance moves (not just handstands now!). I'm still learning a lot of them but now that I got the basics and the how-to's, practice is all I need. After I master and feel comfortable with some of the necessary ones, like toprocks and 6-steps, I can start learning more advanced moves.

Here's my obligatory link for where I learned the basics like said toprocks and 6-steps. Some of the other basic moves, such as various freezes, I'm still learning, and I'm being taught by Miah, my new friend from SM San Lazaro. I spent most of today (Tuesday) there by the way, not really playing much PIU, but more learning such breakdance moves and hanging around. We're going back there this Thursday, and to Sta. Lucia again this Saturday to hang around.

Anyway back to practicing for me. I can't be much of a breakdancer if I stop with only learning the basics. I need to master these and move on to harder moves. The sooner the better!

We Lost Some, We Gained Some
10/10/2005 12:39:00 午前

Heh. Well the PIU tournament is over, finally. And sad to say, we lost. Even sadder to say, we didn't really give it our best performance. Not that our best performance had a better chance at winning, but it would've been more fun to watch. The winners are the guys from SM North.

While we lost the main event, Mikey won a parlor game (Bring Me) and I won some contest where you say "I Love World of Fun" for as long as you can in a single breath. Whatever that game's called. Anyway we both ended up with some Bambini products, which, by the way, include girls' cologne and lotions and stuff like that. I'm left to wonder why they would give a prize like that to a tournament that is mainly dominated by boys...

Anyway, we also have new friends. We made friends with some of the people from Sta. Lucia and San Lazaro. We're free to visit either mall to play PIU whenever we want.

Oh and we got video coverage of most of the tournament. We have video of all performances except the first one (which is only a Crazy mode thing anyway), and the one where the guys performed Beethoven's Virus (classic-contemporary style?). Videos of those who requested will be uploaded as soon as it's converted, which should be within the next few days.

Lastly, I'm very excited for this week. Because by the end of this week is the sem break, meaning we get to hang around malls a lot lol. And practice new PIU routines. Actually I can do that anytime, but I don't want to do it alone, and all my friends, including Abby, have exams this week. So let's hear it for the sem break!

Win By Default
10/04/2005 12:22:00 午前

We won by default lol. Nobody else joined in the Megamall branch, so we have no other semi-finalists. We're going to the Finals this Saturday. We're not sure about the time or place yet, but the original word was that it'll be at the food court of SM North. In any case, I'm getting excited, because we've practiced a bunch of new stunts and steps that will spice up our performance.

By the way, we're going to use Koul instead of Funky Tonight. We simply didn't have enough time to make Funky Tonight kick ass without failing the song before Saturday. At least we already memorized Koul, and we can make modifications, particularly insertion of stunts and tricks, easily.

Aside from that, not much else to say. Strange, because it's been such a long time since my last post. o_O
