らき☆すた (Lucky Star) EP 24 END
9/19/2007 11:05:00 午前

Warning! If you'd ever thought of Lucky Star as being something that could be spoiled, there's a considerable amount of spoilers in both text and screenshot form up ahead. Just saying.

It's all over! D: I've finally watched the last episode of Lucky Star. Since around episode 15 or so I was wondering how they were going to end such an epic series. I guess now I have my unexpected answer.

Kogami Akira finally makes her appearance in the main show. Hooray for her. :)

Also of note is that the teacher in the middle, Sakuraba is hilarious. Voiced by Yuki Matsuoka, the voice behind Osaka of Azumanga Daioh and Tsuruya of Haruhi. She sounds so bored that she forgets to be polite considering that Akira is an idol. And she tries to fix it by adding polite words at the end of her sentences.

Examples:
1. はぁい桜庭だ...です。

2. 後は基本的に白石に任せるので、何かあったら言い付けろう...ってください。

最後のらっき☆ちゃねる ( ¯Д¯)/

The last Lucky Channel! D: Could it be the last Lucky Channel ever?! Sad that Minoru and Akira aren't friends yet, but I guess that's what made them funny the last few episodes, as seen below:

Seconded.

You know, Kagami used to be my favorite among all the characters, but as the show went on, the other characters started to grow on me too, so while I still like Kagami, I ended up liking everybody else as well.

Yay Hiyori. :D Certainly one of my favorite characters.

... lol

Costumes + Everybody look familiar? You actually see this coming as soon as the 4th scene where Patty suggests a cheering thing for the school festival. Now that we've seen the entirety of the dance, can we expect to see even more 「もってけ!セーラー服」 choreographies and parodies floating around? I'm pretty sure Kyoto Animation was going for a 2007 version of the famous 晴れ晴れ dance they popularized in Haruhi.

And the final scene of the main show. Like I said, I'd long wondered how they were to end such a series. In slice-of-life and friendship anime like this, they usually end it either with a graduation episode or some other big event where they realize that they enjoy each other's company, and they're going to miss stuff when it's over.

That being said, the school festival is the big event, and Kagami's tsundere makes the mix. But I certainly wasn't expecting the final curtain for the show to be a curtain raising.

After that scene, and Shiraishi's usual funny singing at the end of the episode, I was actually hoping for something else to happen. But nothing. So I guess it's goodbye to the girls of Lucky Star. I'll see them again on the great interweb, on imageboards and blogs and other things, or when I replay episodes now and then.

さらば、らき☆すた

Anime D: D: D: It looks pretty interesting. In an anime way. Lol. :]

Yup. But like I said, Lucky Star is best enjoyed when you have a little knowledge of Japan. Not necessarily the language, but more like customs, traditions, and especially modern-day stuff. Like new anime or real life references and stuff. Because it's based on a 4-koma, a lot of what it tackles is real-life stuff, and it's really up-to-date with the trends of Japan today.

A good example is the term "dondake" as coined repeatedly in the last episode, and several times as well in other episodes before it.
