MMORPG :D

Alright, it's been a while since I've last posted. I don't get to use my browser as much as I used to, because I'm so busy. First off, I'm playing GoonZu, which eats up a considerable amount of time, what with its mind-numbing battle system. That isn't to say it isn't fun, it's just mind-numbingly so.

Second, I downloaded and am patching the Trickster Online client. The installer is about 450 MB and the patch is around 200 MB (just a guess). But I love the patch program. It's probably the best patch program ever made for a MMOG. One of the main features is that it RESUMES. Yeah, so if you're on dial-up, like me, you don't have to worry about having to leave your PC on for 2 days straight or something stupid like that. Just patch when you can. Also, the patcher cleans up unfinished files. There seems to be no danger of getting corrupted or half-finished files. If a file was unfinished, and you got disconnected, for example, it will clean up that file, and re-download it. That is awesome. :D Finally their patcher doesn't use up a lot of RAM. I can actually play DotA while patching, without any noticeable lag.

I'm about half done with that patching. I think I have about 100 MB to go.

Also, I've been playing FlyFF again. Nothing hardcore. I mainly do it because the battle system in FlyFF is so active and enjoyable, as compared to GoonZu, which is, as I said, mind-numbing. FlyFF is my de-stresser heheh. I'm still not a fan of the shout-flooding that seems to be rampant and out of control, but hey, I don't need to listen to (or read) what I don't want to.

Also, Abby and I are going through the early stages of game developing. We'll use RMXP most probably, because I'm lazy to go and make my own engine using Ruby/RGSS. Not that I'm even skilled with Ruby yet. The game will be very light, story-wise, and the battle system will be the basic turn-based kind (I'm trying to add a few bits for flavor, but nothing too heavy). I've got a lot of the system worked out now. We're just trying to figure out what the characters will be like, for concept art and character design and stuff. Abby will be my lead graphic designer (not like we have a big team or anything anyway), and she'll be in charge of the graphic aspects of the game. I'll work on the game system, story and music.

Lastly, my b-boying has improved. I've been working out, mostly my abs and legs, so that I can better do pikes and air chairs (piking is very important with air chairs). My wrist is acting up again so my inverts practice has come to a bit of a halt. Also, I got to hold a one-hand handstand for a very short time without noticing any real outbalancing. I hope I get the hang of it soon.
