Now listening to: Agua - Daydream ~ そばにいるよ

Yeah this is an oldschool song. Apparently it's the ending theme to the Kimagure Orange Road movie. I'd never watched KOR, but several years ago we got a cassette tape with various anime songs in it, and this one was included. We lost the cassette tape already, but the memory of this song rang through my brain all this time. But at the time I didn't speak Japanese, I didn't understand the lyrics, hence I had trouble finding the song. I only thought of looking for it last night, now that I can actually decipher the parts of the lyrics that I remembered.

Anyway yeah. I think it was around year 2000 when we got that tape. I remember listening to it while editing stuff for Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, which was probably my favorite game at the time. I remember our old house, and the public school out front, and the sound of the kids yelling or reciting something, and the smells of the peanut factory down the street. I remember the trees and the sound they made when the wind blew even a little.

Soon after that time though, we lost the tape. I think we only listened to it about 4-5 times, but this song particularly stuck to my head (in fact, I don't remember any of the other songs on the tape; I think it had some songs from 逮捕しちゃうぞ).

Anyway the big b-boy event is tonight (Friday). I'm pretty excited and nervous. I'd worked out a new routine, which is really just a compilation of some of my favorite styles into a single routine. I'll practice it more before the event, because it has to be so natural that I don't forget it at all, even if I get nervous or tired.
